Hello,

Hi, I’m DeShonna Jenkins, M.S., MFT

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist, author, certified relational coach, and passionate advocate for intentional self-care. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I am currently a PhD applicant—continuing my commitment to lifelong learning and growth.

My work is rooted in one central belief: when therapists are supported, resourced, and well, their impact multiplies. As I continue my own journey in the field, I am driven by a desire to equip both therapists and clients with tools that nurture resilience, clarity, and sustainable balance.

I created The Therapeutic Thread as a reflection of that mission—a space where healing professionals, interns, and growing clinicians can access thoughtful resources that support not only their clients’ progress, but their own development as well.

Outside of my professional work, I cherish simple, grounding moments—journaling with intention, getting lost in a good book, sipping a warm chai latte, or taking peaceful walks in the park. These small rituals are part of my own wellness practice and serve as a gentle reminder that we cannot pour from an empty cup.

At my core, I believe growth is ongoing, healing is layered, and we are all worthy of support along the way.

The Heart Behind The Therapeutic Thread

The idea for The Therapeutic Thread was born out of both professional experience and personal reflection. As a therapist, I often found myself searching for practical, meaningful resources to support my clients—tools that not only guided the therapeutic process but also nurtured self-care, creativity, and growth. At the same time, I realized how essential it is for therapists themselves to feel supported, inspired, and equipped in their own journeys.

That’s why I created this platform: a place where therapists can find workbooks, journals, and therapeutic tools designed to strengthen practice, encourage reflection, and enhance well-being. My hope is that The Therapeutic Thread becomes more than just a resource hub—it becomes a community that reminds therapists of the power of connection, creativity, and care.
